Burgundy; Still a fashionable color?

29 03 2012

I want to announce this to everyone here in the Americas, to our friends in Spain, Turkey and the UK – including England – that as of 0900 mountain time, Paramount Pictures and myself, Ronald Joseph Aaron Burgundy, have come to terms on a sequel to Anchorman.

Last night on Conan O’Brien, a legend of TV broadcasting announced that he would be allowing his life to be filmed for a second time.

Ron Burgundy is the reason why so many young people dream of the chance to mix news, sports and incorrect information about the weather all in one 30 minute segment.

He took the position of anchor and made it his own, even in the face of more talented and certainly more attractive opposition.

Burgundy was more than just an anchorman, he was the voice of the oppressed. Meaning of course, those of us not blessed with the chance to address literally thousands of people on a daily basis.

Part of me wants to see Ron on the big screen again, the majority of me hopes that he will decide that this is a bad idea and that his screen legacy will remain intact. Burgundy is a hero of mine, but do we really need to have him back in our lives?

As ever, the lure of the filthy lucre has proved too much…even for Ron.
